Amenities
Arena/Stage
The Arena is utilized for many activities including: indoor tennis, pickleball, walking on the indoor track, Entertainment series, Feast N’ Fun and Bingo. Various groups such as Musicale Chorus and the Drama Club use the Arena for practice and performances. The Stage is used for performances by amateur and professional groups from inside and outside the community.

Billiard/Ping-Pong Room
This room holds four regulation size pool tables and one ping-pong table. The Billiard Activity members participate in league play for both men and women, and have formed traveling teams. League play is year-round and is scheduled during various times of the day and night.

Bocce Ball Courts
For many weeks of the year, organized play is held three mornings each week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The residents have also formed a travel team for inter-community play.

Clubhouse
The Highland Lakes Clubhouse is the heart our community. Most of the meetings and events held by the over fifty activity groups are held in or adjacent to the Clubhouse. The Association Office is located in the Clubhouse. Residents are always welcomed by the Community Association Manager between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to get information, make suggestions, send and receive faxes.

Craft Room
This large room is used by residents for painting, ceramics, quilting and other crafts. It is also used as a meeting room for larger groups. This room has a kiln, sewing machine, along with locked cabinets and closet for storage of ‘works’ in progress.

Craftsmen Building/Woodworking Shop
The Craftsmen Building is mostly used by the Highland Lakes Craftsmen activity group. The members of this activity promote and teach the art of safe woodworking and other related crafts compatible to woodworking. The members of this activity offer their expert advice to the Association concerning various projects in the community and many times volunteer their services to complete those projects.

Exercise Room
The Exercise Room houses two tread mills, three bicycles, a step machine, a rowing machine, various weight dumbbells and a multi-station weight machine.

Gate Greeters Building
This structure houses the electronic gear to manually operate the entrance gates. Residents volunteer in this post to assist visitors who need help entering the community. The Gate Greeters are on duty from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. seven days a week.

Golf Driving Range
This is a short Driving Range used mostly for practicing iron shots. You can buy buckets of balls which are collected by volunteers from the Highland Lakes Golf Group. The funds are used to maintain the driving range.

Horseshoe Courts
Highland Lakes has seven Horseshoe Courts that are used throughout the year by those who love to pitch horseshoes. Those who pitch in league play usually meet Monday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 am and play until 1:00 pm.

Lakes
There are seven Lakes scattered around Highland Lakes. Four of these Lakes are regularly used by residents for catch and release fishing. The Lakes also provide a wonderful natural habitat for local wildlife.

Library
The Library provides a relaxing place to sit and read a good book. The Library supplies many residents with a wide variety of literature, tapes, CD’s and puzzles. The Library Activity volunteers keep the library in order by stamping and cataloguing new donations, shelving books, straightening shelves, weeding out old books and magazines, and donating discarded books to public libraries or charities.

This large room, with the divider open, is used by residents for special occasions, meetings and card games for larger groups. When the divider is closed, it forms two separate rooms where both meetings and card players can utilize this space.

Nature Trail
The Trail is a serene natural environment where many residents take a leisurely stroll along the three trails, sit and contemplate in the meditation glade, or watch the many species of wildlife that call this area their home. The Environmental Committee has labeled many plant species to inform visitors about the native foliage. The Nature Trail is a jewel in the center of the Highland Lakes Community.

Pavilion
The Pavilion is a covered area that is available to all residents to reserve to gather with friends, neighbors and other groups. Many picnic tables are present along with grills to barbecue. Reservations may be made via the office Community Manager.

RV Parking Facility
The parking area provides over 260 spaces to park all types of RV’s and boats. Seventeen of the spaces are covered with an aluminum roof. If space is available, residents are also allowed to store utility trailers and passenger vehicles. The RV Parking Committee assigns the spaces and makes sure all vehicles have current license plates. The RV Facility is fenced-in and the gate is kept locked when no one is inside the compound.

Shuffleboard Courts
There are eight lighted Shuffleboard Courts that are enjoyed by many residents all times of the day. The Association provides the discs and poles. There is a Shuffleboard Activity Group that organizes competitions and team play.

Softball Facility
The Softball Facility is a well-used amenity that hosts several tournaments during the year. Highland Lakes has Community Teams for residents and their guests only. These teams normally play on Highland Lakes’ softball field. Highland Lakes Softball is a very active group that has assumed the responsibility of overseeing the maintenance of the Softball Facility.

Swimming Pool-Indoor
The Indoor Swimming Pool is heated all year when necessary to maintain the temperature at approximately 84 degrees. Aquatic exercise groups and lap swimmers use this facility regularly to keep in shape, while many other residents use the pool merely for recreation. It’s great to have such a facility to use in order to escape the elements such as cold in the winter and the direct rays of the sun in the summer.

The Outdoor Swimming Pool is mostly utilized during the seven to eight warmer months of the year. Aquatic exercise groups and lap swimmers use this facility regularly to keep in shape, while many other residents use the pool merely for recreation and sun bathing.

Tennis Courts
Highland Lakes boasts 6 Tennis Courts. Two courts are lighted and four courts have a cushion surface that many players feel is easier on the legs. The Tennis Activity group schedules organized play most every day of the week. Organized play is usually in the mornings to avoid the heat of the day. The Tennis Activity Group also hosts several tournaments during the year.
